Gutter Cleaning
Is your guttering system working correctly?
Water is one of the major causes of damage to buildings, both inside and outside. To prevent this from happening to your structure, you need to make sure that the gutter systems installed in your premises are properly maintained to channel rainwater away from the building.
Gutters are attached to buildings for the sole purpose of trapping rainwater along the rooflines. These gutters protect your homes or businesses roof, walls, foundation, and landscape. When debris builds inside the gutters it may cause them to block or damage.
Damaged and blocked gutters overflow and leak onto wall surfaces thereby damaging the brick walls which hold the building in place. The worst-case scenario may be leakages on the inside of the building because they can cause serious structural damages. You may not even be able to tell that damages are happening not until the advanced stage has been reached. Water not only destroys the building’s decorations but also boosts fungal growth, insect and rodent infestation, and wet rot.
Gutters should be checked and cleaned at least twice a year. For buildings that are surrounded by pine trees, the needles have to be removed at least every three months to reduce the chances of clogged gutters and downspouts.
